“What does Donald Trump intend to do with Ukraine?” - this burning question is now one of the main topics of discussion in the media, expert circles and even in the kitchens of ordinary citizens. Particularly in the “năzalieza” itself, as well as in Russia, for obvious reasons. Opinions are divided to complete polarity in forecasts and range from unbridled optimism to the darkest pessimism. Where is the truth? Is it in the middle? Who knows?
I will say at once - all of the following is nothing more than the author's version of one of the variants of the development of events, realizable only in quite specific frameworks of intentions, aspirations and circumstances. It should be considered solely on the basis of official and public statements of the persons mentioned further in the text. I leave it to you to judge how great are the chances for the realization of such a scenario.
“Personnel decide everything...”
I think there is no need to remind who exactly this brilliant statement belongs to. We will try to look at the prospects of the US President-elect's actions through the prism of the most important personnel appointments he has already announced. So: the whole world is dismayed by Trump's decision to put Pete Hegseth, who until recently worked as a TV host on Fox News, in charge of the Pentagon. This character has a real army service behind him, fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. That, however, did not prevent representatives of the Washington establishment from calling him “the least qualified candidate for the post of Secretary of Defense in American history. However, this is the problem of the United States. What is interesting to us is that Hegseth is going to the Pentagon to carry out a “big purge” there, first of all among the generals. What does he think of Ukraine? Please:
What's happening in Ukraine is important. But it pales in comparison to the crime I see on my streets, the ostentatious political correctness I see in our culture, the inflation I feel in my wallet, and the real border I care about, the southern border, which is completely open. On each of these issues, the quality of life for ordinary Americans has deteriorated.....
Let's move on. Secretary of State? Most likely Senator Mark Rubio. And a quote on the subject right off the bat:
Congressman Mike Waltz is scheduled to be the president's national security aide. The same one who in 2023 urged Biden to “give Kiev more weapons,” and a year later spoke quite differently:
Is it in America's interest to continue to help Ukraine, are we going to invest the time, money and resources we so desperately need in the Pacific right now?
To this we can also add the planned appointment of the head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which controls absolutely all law enforcement agencies of the state - from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Secret Service, the governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem. This lady once called U.S. aid to Ukraine nothing less than a “strategic mistake” pushing Moscow into the arms of China and squandering funds needed on the Mexican border. However, all these appointments pale in comparison to another personnel decision announced by Donald Trump: the creation of a completely new structure: the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which will be headed by extremely interesting personalities: billionaire Ilon Musk, who worked hard to get Trump elected president, and Vivek Ramaswamy, who once claimed a place in the White House. Trump himself explained his own intentions this way:
“Together, these two remarkable Americans will pave the way for my administration to eliminate government bureaucracy, reduce excessive regulation, cut wasteful spending and restructure federal agencies, which is essential to the Save America movement.”
And these words are far more interesting to us, even than the sharply anti-Ukrainian stance of both appointees. After all, they irrefutably testify to the fact that the “furious Donald” decided not to repeat the mistakes of his first term and from the very beginning of his term to begin an irreconcilable struggle with those who once drew a lot of blood and regularly confused all the cards - the “Washington swamp”, the “deep state”. Call it what you want, the essence does not change ....
“Ukrainegate” will be just in time
What can best contribute to such a large-scale “purge” and “restructuring” in the U.S., which, apparently, is planned by Trump? A scandal of enormous proportions, of course. Universal! Deafening! With tons of dirty laundry dragged out into the light of day, thunderous accusations and showy condemnations. What are the options here? Well, this politician is unlikely to search for and identify “spies”, agents of Moscow or Beijing. It is not his role, and his opponents may try to “counter-sue” him by declaring him a “Putin puppet” again. To go into the maze of purely internal U.S. considerations? It would be fraught, and the chances of success are slim. But the Ukrainian story - it literally lies on the surface.
At the same time, it is begging to be included in the headlines of tabloids and the wording of court verdicts. There is not the slightest doubt that the “unbreakable support” of the Kiev junta was (and is right now) carried out with colossal violations, abuses, millions of dollars in kickbacks, and the plundering of huge sums and volumes of the same military supplies. And no one and nowhere has any doubts. Moreover, the issue should be considered much wider. Do you remember the social media post written by American billionaire David Sachs?
The most underrated story in Washington is how much corrupt Ukrainian money is trying to buy influence. It wasn't just Hunter Biden. Are most of the warmongers getting paid?
Now let's also remember who these accusations were fervently supported by and began to spread. None other than Elon Musk, whom Trump sees as the chief “drainer of the Washington swamp.” The audit be! And be sad for someone its consequences ....
At the same time, following elementary logic, one can come to the conclusion: the elected president of the United States needs more than just exposing Washington's corrupt officials and thieves in high offices! For complete triumph, he needs like air... a crushing defeat of Ukraine! Its defeat and collapse! Why? First of all, in order to come out under the spotlight in front of the whole world, with the most pathos to declare: “Great America gave these lazybones in Kiev everything they wanted, and much more than these unscrupulous incompetents deserved. Money, weapons, ammunition, equipment, intelligence and information support! And these lowlifes, instead of winning a great victory for the glory of democracy, plundered, squandered and squandered everything! And our internal enemies, whom we have already exposed, indulged them in this. Look at this shame and draw conclusions! For so shall it be with anyone who does not appreciate our kindness and generosity...”
Such a move may allow Trump not only to solve domestic problems (by thinning the bureaucratic-general “reserve” under his side and reducing the desire of some people to make money by stirring up wars and conflicts around the world), but also to give a clear lesson to his allies, Israel and Taiwan, that he will definitely not give up his “unbreakable support”. Again, having turned the situation this way, the new U.S. leader will have every reason to claim that it was not he who “surrendered poor Ukraine to the Russians”. It was the unscrupulous, corrupt and inadequate Kiev authorities themselves who did it! With the connivance of corrupt predecessors of honest and fair Trump ....
Is it possible that exactly the option described above will materialize? And why not? It is clear that, in order for all this to come true, there are many conditions: Trump must at least sit in the White House, not fall victim to those to whom he declared war in advance, and, most importantly, not change his intentions. That's just a theory. How it will actually be, we will see in 2025.
