A viral video of a man striking a baby in Spain has gone viral, with the suspect arrested in Montjuïc, Barcelona, for assaulting several people and attacking a one-year-old girl. However, the baby was not the only victim, with the Ecuadorian migrant attacking many people that same day.
The 31-year-old suspect, who was arrested on Sunday, assaulted three people in the Montjuïc Park area. Among the victims is the one-year-old baby, the child of French tourists, with the video accumulating tens of millions of views on different accounts across social media. However, that was not the only victim. A 60-year-old man was also attacked, suffering cuts to his face and bruises all over his body. The victim was transported to Hospital del Mar for evaluation. Another third victim was also discovered by police who was also assaulted and required hospitalization, according to Spanish news outlet ElCaso.com.
The police found the suspect in the park after conducting a search, and he was arrested for the three separate attacks. In addition, the man is also considered a suspect in a number of other random attacks in Montjuïc in recent days.
Several witnesses have come forward who are willing to testify against the Ecuadorian migrant. The baby suffered minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
He is expected to appear in court today. According to police sources speaking with ElCaso.com, they say they do not trust the suspect will actually be sent to prison despite the shocking video. In fact, they told reporters that they believe the man could be back on the streets in a matter of hours, potentially targeting more victims in the Sants-Montjuïc district.
